First Kids Coding Camp

First Coding Class

Today our president Niesha Butler taught her first coding class to kids.  This was a free month long coding boot camp for kids in the local Atlanta area.   An interesting fun fact: more girls signed up for the coding class than boys.  Statistically speaking young girls typically shy away from taking computer courses, so this was a pleasant surprise and a win.  We think it has something to do with who was teaching 😉

Some parents even sat in the back and participated. The kids learned HTML, CSS, and got started with Ruby on Rails.  By the end of the coding boot camp, each kid had designed their web page to showcase to their classmates.
